“The Darbs” (Leo and Lorna Darby ) are travelling round Australia taking photos, meeting people and generally relaxing. We both love photography and have thousands of photos. We have entered comps and exhibited, but now we want to capture the wonderful diversity of the Australian landscape.
It has been our dream to travel round Aussie as many do. We have our 20′ van from JBs and it is ‘Just Brilliant’ as they claim: five stars on wheels: an off road pack, solar panels, batteries, gas and 12v with: air con, awning, toilet and shower and yes a washing machine! This is pulled by our 4 x 4 motion diesel VW Touareg which is a pleasure to drive and can pull 3 1/2 ton. Leaving on the 24th February 2015, for a year, to see if we wanted to stay on the road for a few years we packed up our home and rented it… no turning back, and with minimal clothes, lots of camera gear and plenty of wine/beer and of course some food, we have headed off.
Trip 1. The Murray, The Flinders, NT and WA. Returned 6th March 2016 ….. WOW! we love it so … fixed up house rented out for a long time and have headed out again.
Trip 2 . Queensland
