The Breakaways is one of the most astonishing land formations I have ever seen. The sheer majesty and colour will live with me forever. Just outside Coober Pedy off the Oodnadatta Track you can drive through these amazing rock formations. You can get to the top of the ridge off the Sturt Highway about 11 k dirt road, but coming from the Oodnadatta track you pass the dog fence and the moon landscape into this amazing explosion of colour. of course it is best in the late afternoon and at sunset but any time will give you great colour. I have only put a few photos as I am going to work on some and the process takes time but the following gallery is a sample of the beauty.
